Camcorder or Web Cam

If you don't have a camcorder, you can use a web cam instead.
Lighting and Room Setup
The cheap and effective you can set up lighting:
Get a 500 watt halogen light for the foreground (reflected off the wall is best) and a 150 to 200 watt halogen light for the background. This setup works for a small room and cost ranges from around $10 to $20.
Be sure not to use natural light and keep lighting directed away from the camera.
It is highly advisable to not work from a chair or seated position. Set the room up so that you are on a bed or couch and lay sideways. Angle the camera so you do not need to readjust it again and place it next to the monitor so it appears as though you are looking directly at it.
Have a solid colored background. Do not show any part of your home like the kitchen or living room.
